For over 15 years, Tootie has been tracing the family back as far as possible. This journey uncovered the earliest ancestors we all share—Robert Canty and Nancy (or Nanie) Wylie. Robert’s line connects to Peter Canty and an unknown woman in Clarendon County, South Carolina, during slavery. From this research, the ancestral names Canty and Wylie continue to guide our legacy.
